Yakolev Yak-3

The Yak-3 (Russian: Як-3) has added even more variety to the Historical Collection. It was a Soviet fighter aircraft that has been produced since 1944. It belongs to the family of aircraft created in the Yakovlev design bureau and is a development in design of the equally famous Yak-1 aircraft.The Yak-3 gained reputation as a solid and easy-to-maintain aircraft. It was appreciated by both pilots and its ground crews. Interestingly, it was one of the smallest and lightest fighters of World War II. A very good power to weight ratio gave the plane excellent performance, making it a formidable opponent.
