Hawker Typhoon Mk 1B

The Hawker Typhoon is a British fighter-bomber aircraft in service with the British RAF since 1941. Its main task was to combat German fighter aircraft as well as to support frontline operations by attacking ground targets. Typhoon was known for its high top speed of over 660 km/h and powerful armament, its speed made it ideal for performing low altitude intercepts against German Focke Wulf Fw 190s, which were untouchable due to their low-altitude speed. Four 20mm Hispano-Suiza cannons and choice of various bombs and rockets made it effective in destroying surface targets. 3,317 Typhoons were built and they saw service until 1945 when they were retired from service and replaced by its derivative, the Hawker Tempest.
