Douglas C-47 Skytrain "Dakota"

The Douglas�� C-47 Skytrain, also known as the ��Dakota��, was one of the most popular transport aircraft of World War II. Produced by the USA, it was also delivered to other Allied countries. The aircraft was present on all fronts of World War II, and its operation continued long after its end. It was used, among other purposes, for landing paratroopers, such as famously being used during Operation Overlord, and towing gliders, as well as for transporting supplies, ammunition and evacuating the wounded. The C-47 is one of the most widely used cargo aircraft in history. The set includes two figures of American soldiers: a pilot and a paratrooper from the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles" with a characteristic mohawk on his head. The set also includes a plaque with the name of the aircraft and a reinforced brick display stand with transparent studs.
